VIDEO SYNTH

A video synthesizer is able to generate a variety of visual material from colors, patterns, live video, pre recorded video clips, logos, or anything else you can think of.

My synthesizer uses switches and knobs modified to old analog video gear from the 80’s and 90’s to produce its effects and patterns.

I feed video to my video synth, out through a time base corrector, out through a VCR, exported on to an old tube TV and my computer simultaneously. The video synth imports an authentic, nostalgic 720x480 standard definition feed directly to my computer. You can also use 4k video cameras pointed at the tube tv output for an alternate aesthetic.

Although video synths are made from parts of old technology, the effects are very fresh and modern while at the same time feel nostalgic. This particular technique is very untapped at the moment and is lacking any exposure in the commercial mainstream world.

I can shoot original content to manipulate, add effects to something you have already shot, or manipulate any logos you may have. Here is an example reel of some effects I have generated from original content!
